A few thoughts

Here are a few thoughts for today.

I will continue writing and reflecting on preaching/teaching soon (I know you can hardly wait).  I have a few more books to move through and reflect on, and will hopefully move into some constructive ideas for what shape preaching could/should take in our culture.

In the next few days (or early next week), a review I wrote on the recently published Turning Controversy Into Church Ministry will be posted on the Burner Blog as part of a blog tour organized by the folks at Zondervan and the Engaging Church blog.  UPDATE: The post is live on the Burner.  Feel free to check it out and add a comment or two.

I really appreciated Todd Hiestand’s thoughts this morning on bi-vocational ministry and the ensuing conversation in the comments regarding the role of bi-vocational ministry and full-time ministry in a post-Christendom culture.

And, you never know what else I might find myself thinking and writing about…but chances are it will end up here.
