Wall and Piece

The other week I flipped through a book by the English grafitti artist Banksy called Wall and Piece.  Interesting character.

A couple of quotes that struck my mind:

“The people who truly deface our neighbourhoods are the companies that scrawl their giant slogans across buildings and buses trying to make use feel inadequate unless we buy their stuff.  They expect to be able to shout their message in your face from every available surface but you’re never allowed to answer back.” (8)
“People seem to think if they dress like a revolutionary they don’t actually have to behave like one” (41)
“As a precaution to ever committing major acts of evil it is our solemn duty never to do what we’re told, this is the only way we can be sure” (51)
“The human race is an unfair and stupid competition.  A lot of the runners don’t even get decent sneakers or clean drinking water” (90).
